admissions in Central Institute of Psychiatry

Courses/Exams: Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the following postgraduate degree/diploma courses of Ranchi University and conducted at this Institute, commencing from May 1, 2010.

GROUP A:

1. M.D. (Psychiatry) - 3 years
2. Diploma in Psychological Medicine -2 years

GROUP B:

3. Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology - 3 years
4. M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology - 2 years

GROUP C:

5. M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work - 2 years

GROUP D:

6. Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing - 1 years
Eligibility: For M.D. (Psychiatry): M.B.B.S. degree of any University recognized by Medical Council of India, with one year compulsory rotating Internship completed by February, 15, 2010

For Diploma in Psychological Medicine: M.B.B.S. degree of any University recognized by Medical Council of India, with one year Compulsory rotating Internship completed by February, 15, 2010

For Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology: First Class Master’s degree in Psychology regular course Or M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology/ Clinical Psychology of any recognized University, for 3 years and 2 years course respectively.

For M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology: M.A./M.Sc. in Psychology regular course of a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate

For M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work: M.A. in Sociology or Social Work regular course of a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.

For Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing: A’ Grade Certificate or Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.

Two years experience as Staff Nurse.
Application procedure: The application form is to be submitted electronically by internet to CIP website: www.cipranchi.nic.in . and a hard copy of the same application form printed on A4 size bond paper complete in all respect along with a Demand Draft of Rs.400/- for General candidate and Rs.300/ for SC/ST/OBC candidates(non-refundable) in favour of Director, CIP, Ranchi payable at Bank of Baroda, Kanke, Ranchi should
reach the Director, Central Institute of Psychiatry, Kanke, Ranchi-834006 (Jharkhand) by December 14, 2009.

The hard copy of the application form must be duly signed by the candidate and his/her photograph pasted in appropriate place. Incomplete applications not accompanied with Demand Draft, attested photocopies of all certificates, mark sheets, testimonials, Caste Certificate/Disability certificate if applicable or applications received after due date , i.e., December 14, 2009, shall not be considered. The
admit card and a covering letter having necessary instructions will be made available on the CIP website (www.cipranchi.nic.in ).

The admit card and the covering letter are to be downloaded and printed by the candidates and the same to be brought with them to the examination centre. Examinee will not be allowed to enter the examination hall with any electronic communication gadgets viz. Mobile Phones, Pager etc. Examinees, who come to the examination centre, with any such gadget, he/she has to make his/her own arrangements for keeping these outside the examination centre. This should be strictly complied with.

Candidates applying for both M.D. and D.P.M. and for both Ph.D. (Clinical Psychology) and M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology courses starting from May 1, 2010 need to submit only oneapplication each. They should clearly mention the names of the course applied for, in order of preference.
